Let’s Be Realistic: Post #5 – Turning One Blog Post Into Weeks of Content
There is a lot of advice out there in the birth business world, and much of it is unrealistic, spun by people trying to get you to spend big money on services you do not need. The truth is, there are plenty of small, realistic ways to get your birth business noticed without breaking the bank. That is exactly why I started the Let’s Be Realistic series, to show you tried and true, down to earth ways to market your birth business. No frills, no gimmicks, just simple and actionable steps to help improve your marketing in 2025 on a small budget. In this series I am going to walk you through each step. And if you need any help, you know where to find me.
This series was born out of all the sales calls I have had where I have to start with “let’s be realistic.” The truth is, we all want to jump in, fix everything at once, and spend 2025 becoming a marketing guru. But that is not sustainable or realistic. So what are the marketing goals that you can actually reach in 2025? That is what I am going to share with you in this series. Small ways to take steps in the right direction without burning yourself out.
Turning One Blog Post Into Weeks of Content
If you are putting the effort into writing a blog, you might as well squeeze every bit of life out of it. The biggest mistake I see is spending all that time writing something valuable and then letting it sit quietly on your website like a forgotten plant in the corner. A good blog can work for you over and over again if you repurpose it.
Start by looking for the juicy parts of your blog. Every tip, every helpful paragraph, every quotable line is a little piece of content waiting to happen. That tip about what to bring for a birth center birth? Perfect for an Instagram post. The part where you explain how prenatal visits work? Turn it into a Facebook caption with a photo of your space. The warm and fuzzy closing paragraph? That can be its own email to your mailing list.
You can also mix it up by changing the format. Turn a blog into a checklist or graphic for Instagram. Record yourself reading through the key points and post it as a video. Use a section of it for a carousel post with photos that match. The best part is you are not creating new content, you are just giving it different outfits to wear.
Do not be afraid to reuse content more than once. People scroll quickly, algorithms hide things, and honestly, most of your audience will not remember that you posted a similar tip a few months ago. Bring it back with a new photo or a slightly different intro and it will feel fresh again.
Think of your blog as the main dish and all the smaller pieces of content as leftovers that somehow taste even better the next day. You did the work once, so make it feed your marketing for weeks.
Here is the truth. You do not need a brand new idea every single time you post. You just need to work smarter with what you already have.
What is one blog you have written that you could chop up, remix, and use again this month?
