Let’s Be Realistic #8: The Easiest End-of-Year Social Media Plan

There is so much marketing advice floating around for birth businesses and a lot of it feels like it came from someone who has never actually run one. The kind of advice that makes you think you need a 47-step content plan, a ring light in every room, and enough energy to post like you are a full-time influencer. Spoiler alert: you do not need that.

That is why I started this series. I wanted to share the real, small, doable things you can actually fit into your week without losing your mind. I call it Let’s Be Realistic because, well, that is how almost every conversation starts when someone asks me about marketing. “Casey, I want to fix my entire online presence, start a YouTube channel, and post every day starting tomorrow.” And then I have to gently (or not so gently) say, “Let’s be realistic.”

We are not here for burnout. We are here for smart, sustainable steps that actually work.

The Easiest End-of-Year Social Media Plan

The holiday season is not exactly the time to reinvent your marketing. Between holiday programs, school parties, family gatherings, and just trying to stay on top of life, most of us are lucky if we remember to drink our coffee before it gets cold.

So let’s not make this complicated. You can keep your social media alive through the end of the year without spending hours glued to your phone. Here is how I do it.

Pick three to four post ideas that fit the season and feel easy. A holiday greeting from your team. A thank you post for your clients. A year-in-review with your favorite moments. A quick peek at what is coming in the new year. That is it. Nothing fancy, nothing overwhelming.

Set aside one hour, grab a snack, and get it all done. Write your captions, pull together your photos, and pop them into a scheduler so they post automatically. Then you can log off and focus on peppermint mochas, watching your kids in the school play, or catching up on a Netflix show without worrying that your marketing has gone quiet.

And if you want to make it even easier? Steal from yourself. Repost a great client testimonial. Share a photo from earlier in the year. Pull a quote from your blog. No one is keeping score on how new your content is. They just want to hear from you.

By getting your posts scheduled now, you can actually enjoy the holiday season without that nagging “I should post something” thought hanging over your head.

What posts could you knock out this week so your social media takes care of itself through the rest of the year?
